I’m in San Francisco this week to talk about our launch progress in the UK (3 months in), and I sketched this cartoon to describe it. Some of you have asked how it’s going, so I thought I’d share it. It’s a bit like driving down the motorway with your foot on the accelerator while simultaneously tweaking the engine. We’ve launched at some of the largest retailers in the UK in the last 3 months so we have a lot of momentum. But, there are just five of us at the moment in a tiny office in Richmond (10 miles down the Thames from central London), so it feels very much like a startup. Really exciting, but scary at the same time, because we’re having to bootstrap it all.
Here are 3 of us on our way to a sampling event down the street from our office. We had to bring our own sampling table, so we turned it into a kind of parade. I like this picture because it’s a group shot of supply chain (Phil), marketing (me), and sales (David), and kind of encapsulates our crazy adventure here.
